This app is designed by Bruce Greig, an Oxford University psychologist and software designer. The app uses a learning technique called ‘spaced repetition’, which is used by memory experts to learn large amounts of information quickly. It is the same technique used by many London taxi drivers to memorize all the roads and buildings in London.

The app displays a road sign on the screen and you try and recall the meaning of that sign. You then tell the app how easy or difficult you found it to recall that sign. Signs you find hard to recall will be shown to you again quite soon. Signs you know well will not appear again for a while.

This simple technique is the most efficient way to learn information by heart and will help you pass your driving theory test first time.
